Good Shepherd Humane Society Inc. is looking for you!

The Board of Directors of GSHS are dedicated to those ideals expressed in our mission statement. Board Members serve 1, 2 and 3 year terms.

Board member responsibilities include setting policy for the animal shelter, working to increase GSHS membership, grant writing, developing the animal shelter’s and thrift stores annual budget, assisting the shelter director and thrift store manager with marketing and education and fund raising.

Board members are actively involved in various fund raising events and committee's. Board meetings are held once a month, usually on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Members spend an average of 8 hours a month fulfilling board duties, including the monthly meetings.

Board members are encouraged to visit the animal shelter and get to know the staff and see how the shelter works. Along with visiting our two thrift stores and getting to know our many volunteers.

However, it is understood that some people may not be comfortable going to the shelter if you are not it is not a necessary to visit the shelter to be on the board. Serving on the board of directors is a great way to contribute to the shelter without having to spend time at the shelter itself.

If serving on the Board sounds like something you might be interested in you can contacts us via our email address. Or if f you have questions contact one of the board members for more information. Current board members email address's can be found on our web site.
