A spay surgery is the surgical sterilization procedure for female animals and neuter surgery is the surgical sterilization procedure for male animals.

Routine spay & neuter clinic days are every other Wednesday and Thursday. Schedules may vary during holidays.

Spay & neuter services are done by appointment with the exception of feral cats.

Cats:
Spay or neuter surgery: $35.00
Additional surgical procedures at time of spay or neuter:
Hernia repair: $15.00
Cryptorchid (undescended testicles): $15.00 per side

Microchip with lifetime registration: $20.00
Snap test for heartworms,  feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). $22.00

Vaccines:
Rabies: $10.00
Rabies vaccines are mandatory per Arkansas state law and must be administered by a state licensed veterinarian. All animals will be vaccinated for rabies at time of surgery if 16 weeks of age or greater unless proof of current rabies vaccine is provided prior to or at time of check in for surgery. Good Shepherd staff will not call your  private veterinarian to verify this. It is your responsibility to bring us a copy of the rabies certificate. A rabies tag alone will not be accepted as verification as it does not give the information regarding the specific animal.

FVRCP vaccine: $10.00 this vaccine protects against  rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia (feline distemper)

 Dogs:

Dogs under 40 pounds:  $50.00
Includes take home pain medication and cone collar to prevent licking & chewing

Dogs 41-74 pounds: $60.00
Includes take home pain medication and cone collar to prevent licking & chewing

Dogs over 75 pounds: $1 per pound up to 100 lbs.

Dogs 100 lbs and up $100.00
Includes take home pain medication and cone collar to prevent licking & chewing

Additional surgical procedures at time of spay or neuter:

Heartworm preventative will only be sold for animals with a negative test.

Vaccines:

DHPP: $10.00 this vaccine  prevents four different viruses: canine distemper, infectious hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus.
Bordetella: $15.00 this vaccine is for the prevention of kennel cough. The initial dose must be followed with a booster in one month and then every 6 months thereafter.

We also sell a variety of dewormer products, flea and tick preventatives and heartworm preventative. These products are only available for animals that have been seen within the year at either a spay/neuter clinic or vaccine clinic.
