Planned Giving
What is Planned Giving?
Don’t let the terms “Estate Planning” or “Planned Giving” confuse or intimidate you. It’s really quite simple. It is an excellent way for you to leave something for the care of the animals when you pass away. It’s easy to do and a great way to ensure your continued influence on the welfare of pets and their owners for years to come.

Bequest
The simplest thing to do is to leave Good Shepherd Humane Society a Bequest in your will. Just call your lawyer and ask him or her to amend your will. For example, “I give, devise, and bequeath (an amount or percent of my estate) to Good Shepherd Humane Society a 501(c)(3) charitable organization located at 6486 Highway 62, Eureka Springs, AR 72632.” You can even specify to what purpose your gift should be used (i.e. to general fund, shelter fund, spays/neuter, emergency medical fund, etc.).
Appreciated Property
You simply donate to Good Shepherd Humane Society something that has value and will grow, such as stocks, bonds, real estate, even collectible coins or stamps. You receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the appreciated property and never pay tax on the increase in value during the time you owned it.
Life Insurance
All you have to do is name Good Shepherd Humane Society as a beneficiary on your policy.
Charitable Gift Annuities or Pooled Income Funds
Please contact your tax planner or financial advisor for information on these methods of planned giving.
