We understand that life circumstances change, and sometimes finding a new home for a beloved pet is the most responsible and loving decision you can make. At Good Shepherd, we’re here to help without judgment.

BEFORE YOU REACH OUT

We always want to explore every option before a pet enters our care. Sometimes a small amount of support is all it take to keep a pet in their home. If you’re struggling with any of the following, please reach out - we may be able to help.

  • Veterinary costs or medical concerns

  • Behavioral issues

  • Pets not getting along

  • Financial issues affecting food and supplies for your pet

WHEN REHOMING IS THE RIGHT CHOICE

  • If you’ve weighed your options and rehoming is the right path forward, we want to make the process as smooth as possible for both you and your pet. Space at our shelter is limited, so we ask that you complete our intake form in advance.

  • Adopt-A-Pet also offers a rehoming program via their website.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • A conversation: We’ll ask about your pet’s history, personality, and needs so we can set them up for a successful adoption.

  • Honest communication: We’ll let you know what to expect regarding timeline and placement.

  • Care you can trust: Your pet will receive daily enrichment, socialization, and medical attention while in our care.
