I FOUND A PET

BEFORE YOU PICK THEM UP

Many animals in Carroll County are free-roaming and return home on their own. If you are visiting the area, it may be better to report a sighting to local animal control than to transport the animal. Shelters or animal control may not have room for the animal at their facility.

POST AND SHARE

  • Post photos on Facebook with sex, if known, and exact location found

  • Share to the same local groups listed above

MAKE CALLS

  • If found within city limits, call that city’s animal control first

  • Call area shelters - even if they can’t take the animal, leave your contact info so they can connect you with the owner

SCAN FOR MICROCHIP

  • Take the animal to any local vet or shelter to be scanned for free. If there is a chip, they can likely be reunite the same day
